This is a question Accidental animal cruelty

I once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.

Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?
This question has been revived from way, way, way back on the b3ta messageboard when it was all fields round here.

I'm not proud of any of these...
...but I'm something of a champion animal-hunter with my car. So far I've run over:

A few rabbits
A pheasant
A fox
A badger
A deer

Before anyone lights the burning cross and tries to run me out of the country, I'd like to point out that all were unavoidable (and not because I drive too fast), and that I felt terrible after each one.

And yes, I did report them to the correct authorities each time.

Who...
...does one report a dead badger to?

Is there a special hotline? A Government regulator?

"Hello this OfBadger ... dead you say sir, well we'll need you to fill in a few forms"

I
was wondering who one would report this to too. Deer well yes, suppose a badger too, (both being protected I think), but a rabbit? See my later posting re the dead fox, and the old Bill just told my mate to bin it.

I hit a badger once
just south of Inverness. It made a hell of a thump (twice) as it went under the wheels, and I had a little bit of badger fur stuck in the wheel rim for months afterwards, kind of like a macabre trophy.

I felt horrible about it, but it was jammed in the rim and wouldn't come out. Badger hair is surprisingly tough.
