Accidental animal crueltyI once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.
Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?

It seems to be Farmer Story time on the QOTWSo I'll add one of mine.
Once a farm dog can no longer work on a farm, it is usually retired to the farmhouse (or sometimes adopted) to live out the rest of its days in lazy peacefulness, whilst a younger model takes over its duties.
One of the farmers in my village (there are a lot of farmers in a small village, and they're all related) loved his dog a lot. This is the dog mentioned here: www.b3ta.com/questions/animalcruelty/post105720). It was old, arthritic, deaf and short-sighted. He just let it ride in his tractor cab all day. They would keep each other company, and both were perfectly happy.
Until one day, when they were wandering around a field during harvest time, watching the combines. The dog, being deaf and nearly blind, didn't see the second combine coming until it was on top of it. Literally. The dog got harvested.
Oops.

Farmers and CombinesEven though the farmer was a pig to me, he was an animal lover and would stop the combine if animals were in the way.
Oh...that reminds me of another accidental cruelty story....

@RoopySome kind of cereal. Barley possibly. The crops are rotated, so it could have been anything.
I don't know what they did with the bloodied crop. Possibly just fed it to the bullocks in the next field...
