There's a difference between being responsible, and having participated.

It was all done in the name of Germany, so yeah, Germany is responsible. If there's anything to be resolved, it's up to Germany to do it.

I'm guessing this is about the new funds being given to holocaust victims, right? No, you didn't do it, but you won't get much sympathy if you complain.

This is kind of a sore point with me. I'm Jewish, and I hate the way some people of my race have a problem with Germans. I'd extend my unequivocal NO even to the vast majority of adult civilians during the war. What the shitting fuck were they actually supposed to do about what their government was up to? Besides, I bet there was widespread ignorance amongst civilians as to the actual scale of atrocities. There were some amazing acts of heroism from a few German civilians who had the massive balls to stand up for what they believed in, and most of them ended up dead. It's right to celebrate heroism, but not to revile a lack of it.... you can't blame someone for saving their own skin, it's what 99.99% of us would do, whether we like to think so or not.
