It's a metaphorical yard, so it's probably in Paris.

The yard is located at the bottom of a valley,
and the milkshake is dispensed in the form of a tidal wave that floods down through the nearby village, washing all the kids away. The girls manage to swim to safety but the boys all end up in the yard.
