I know it's an utterly ridiculous idea
but maybe if the political parties

1. came up with their own manifesto ideas rather than copying each others
2. stuck to the promises they make in their manifesto
3. stopped trying to pretend there's a huge difference between the parties
4. put us in a position where there's a choice to be made between them

then more people might actually bother to vote?

Voting for a smaller party would let you off the hook.
So long as it wasn't UKIP or the Greens.
