This is a question Happy 10th Birthday B3ta

Ten years ago today we launched B3ta (well the version of it you'd recognise). Happy birthday B3ta! As a special one off please add your memories of B3ta here. E.g. How you found the site, or an early thing you saw on the site, maybe the people you've met or how the community is/was part of your life.

It's all Scaryduck's fault
I was reading his blog (probably reached through a link on the beeb news site) and people kept talking about b3ta in the comments. Lurked for a long time before signing up (I wasn't even married, it was a few days before my wedding) - the challenge that week was 'remove a letter from a movie title'. I attempted a very poor shop of ET without the T, hosted it somewhere crap, it redexed no matter what I did so I ran and relurked and didn't post again for six months or so.

B3ta has made me laugh, cry and get drunk. It's made me stand in the shower with a t-shirt on while my husband took pictures, which he then allowed me to post. It's made me pass out in a restaurant in Earl's Court, dragged me back to my room and removed my top. It's made me eat goatse cake. It's made me LOVE horses, and forced me to buy shares in purveyors of Mind Bleach.

I've met people I would never otherwise have spent time with, some of them special in a lovely way, others just plain 'special'.

The best bit? Every single person on here is sexy. Except you. Yeah, you. You know who you are.
