This is a question Banks

Your Ginger Fuhrer froths, "I hate my bank. Not because of debt or anything but because I hate being sold to - possibly pathologically so - and everytime I speak to them they try and sell me services. Gold cards, isas, insurance, you know the crap. It drives me insane. I ALREADY BANK WITH YOU. STOP IT. YOU MAKE ME FRIGHTED TO DO MY NORMAL BANKING. I'm angry even thinking about them."

So, tell us your banking stories of woe.

No doubt at least one of you has shagged in the vault, shat on a counter or thrown up in a cash machine. Or something

How overdrawn are you?
So far this month I'm at -£254.

Not too bad though considering I've had to endure the expenditure that comes with a girlfriend's birthday, a brother's birthday and a dad's 60th.. all in the last two weeks.

The booze and drugs don't help either though.

Currently
£2,498. You can all guess the limit.

Still, pay day next week. Problem being I need to pay most of it into debt. Very very depressing.

£453 of a £500 overdraft.
About right for the weekend before payday. Just enough to give me beer tokens for tomorrow night.

oops
Im £1554 over a £1500 overdraft, £4297 on a £4300 card, £3850 on a £3900 card. I'm supposed to be buying a macbook pro tomorrow but im not sure its going to happen anymore! Im 22 ffs, didnt go to uni, started my half decent job at £0. I can probably account for only about £4000!

I was always worried about this
So I have two accounts now.

One is a fully fledged current account which I use to clear cheques and the like.
The other is a cardcash account which gives me a debit card. This is the account I use for day to day stuff, and I get my wages into. I can't get an overdraft, so there's no risk of debt.

So far, so good!

Yay!

Mind you I was only paid two days ago, so have £246 to last a whole month.

Boo!

Not been overdrawn
In about six years. Mind you I have neither credit cards, loans or overdrafts. And I do have a fucking bonkers telly, too. Woo.

Instead of a credit card, I have another bank account. I put money in it and use it when I'd normally use a credit card.

It's called a savings account.

lolz
Yes. I think that credit is like drinking or gambling: some people just can't do it safely.

I have never had a loan, credit card, overdraft etc. I don't want one either, because I have a feeling I'd end deeply in debt.

Don't do it kids, it's not worth it!

Never a truer word said
Up until 2 years ago I'd never had a loan, credit card or overdraft.

Fast forward to now and I'm nearly 5k in debt thanks to 3 shiney credit cards and a £500 overdraft limit.

I still remember the day I applied for and got my first credit card. Ignored all warnings from my friends who all knew I was, how shall we say, somewhat irresonsible when it came to money anyway.

Ah well, live and learn (and I'm glad to say I actually have, haven't used a card since christmas).

3 years and I'm clear. Pisses me off though that for that money I could have travelled the world and instead I'm just lumbered with thousands of pounds of debt and only an ipod nano to show for it.

Banks won't let me anymore. :-(
Or :-) actually.

Let's see...
in pounds?

636.166 GBP in the hole to my credit card.

Roughly 800 to my father, but I've got a stay of debt to him to get the credit card sorted out.

Currently
£350 in the black due to transferring quite a lot of money from my savings account. Soon to be about £900 overdrawn when I pay my damn car insurance...

Oooh...
