Not so long agoI was on a night flight from the Far East. As we passed over the Caspian, the first shades of day began to appear through the window: thin bands of red and gold shading into indigo and blak. Owing to the speed of the 'plane (aeroplane, by the way... sorry!) and the speed of the Earth, though, the sun never got any higher. Sunrise lasted all the way from about Yerevan to about Vienna. It was quite magical.
