This is a question Beautiful Moments, Part Two

Last week I saw a helium balloon cross the road at the lights on a perfectly timed gust of wind. Today I saw four people trying to get into a GWiz electric car. They failed.

What's the best thing you've seen recently?

On two seperate occasions wild birds have voluntarily perched on my finger
One was a blue tit who was probably just interested in the crunchy nut cornflakes in my hand.

The other, however, was a sparrow who was flapping about in the bookshop I worked. I tried to get her to fly towards the doors, it worked for a while but then she landed on a bookshelf. I put my hand beside her to get her to fly, but she just got on my finger and let my carry her outside like that.

Annoyingly, noone saw this but me, but it was so very magical to have a creature like that trust me :D

it's true
but I didn't have the time, camera or wits to get a photo, I was too busy being charmed

never try to grab their feet
they'll peck the fuck out of your hand

I'd do the same to you
if you grabbed at my feet!

along Princes Street gardens are pretty keen for a rummage in your hand if you have a handful of fresh peanuts.

Earlier this year I rescued a little bat that had fallen into the road
it was really sweet, it hugged my finger (it was really quite small). Later I googled to see if I did the right thing. Apparently you shouldnt pick them up with bare hands as they can have rabies.

if they are cute
it's worth getting rabies from

works with men and bats

A tit in the hand is worth two hands in the bush.

Or something.

I thought it was
"One in Kate Bush is worth ten in the hand"

Certainly true
I saw my sister do it in a barn. Watched the nesting swallows for ages, held out her hand and one landed on it. I even got to stroke the swallow before it flew off. A real St Francis moment, ironically as my sis can be a bit of a dragon!

That happened to me once
And a bunch of singing rabbits turned up at the windows to watch.
It was horrible, rabbits really can't carry a tune.
