I rememberUsing a vacuum-former to coat a door knocker I'd made in a metal work class.
The metal didn't really make a knocking sound once it had been covered in plastic though...

They were great thingsI remember loads of people trying to surreptitiously make things from it, and the teachers would always go mental because of the cost of the plastic.
