This is a question Redundant technology

Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

Thanks to boozehound for the suggestion

i can be strangely techno-phobic at times
i would rather wash my own dishes than use a dishwasher, i still write down phone numbers instead of just storing them on a phone, if i have to go somewhere i will usually walk or ride my bike.
hell, i don't even own a hoover. i have cushioned flooring, it's much quicker to simply sweep the floor clean.
don't get me wrong, i'm not saying all technology is bad, i'm not exactly a luddite, it's just that i prefer not to have to rely on technology for things i can do myself without it.

Besides, dishwashers aren't practical for home use unless you've got a large family or run a catering business.

good point
my sister has one. there's only 3 people in her house, so the dishwasher gets used every 2 days or so. what's the point in that?

aha!
I also dont own a vacuum cleaner.
I did until 2 weeks ago, then realised my dustpan and brush did a better job and the cleaner went to the tip.
I also write numbers down, hand wash my dishes and clothes, and am still using a 9yr old video player to watch my collection of 300+ tapes and crank up my 8yr old reconditioned Mac, sad but true
As an ex bus dwelling new age traveller i think I'm actually quite well advanced compared to my friends who still live in tarp and carpet covered benders in the woods.
I has the internet, nothing else matters *grins

i have no idea how old my pc is
i got it free from a fellow b3tan when his office was upgrading 3 years ago!

mine was a swap
I painted an original canvass in exchange for this machine.
My previous one was passed onto me when a friend upgraded, sadly the hard drive imploded last year

Used a computer for the first time a mere 10 yrs ago while dossing on a friends floor after all my belongings went up in flames after a bus fire, he taught me how to do email etc, then after I finally settled down into my own flat my first ever computer was a surprise gift from some internet friends who had a whipround to keep me online.
Iam an unashamed luddite
90% of modern technology is a mystery to me.
I can survive in a forest with nothing more than a knitting needle and a paper bag.
Hand me a mobile phone or a video game and I'll gawp like a mong

i know the feeling :D
until 3 years ago, i didn't even know how to switch a computer on! the same person who gave me my computer has allowed his gamecube to live in my house for about 2 years. it's his fault i'm hooked on zelda! if anything goes wrong with my telly/video/dvd/computer, i won't touch it, i just whine to him until he fixes it for me!
i think he's getting a bit pissed off with me by now ;)
