Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

I love these odd items that came back from far flung parts of the world with peoples gradparents in 1945.
I understand what you mean about the equipment, but the film rolls, are really not going to get any better with age. You might consider giving the BFI archives a call and see if they want them? If they think they are worth it, they might restore or make a copy of them!
