Similarly . . .In my yoof, I spent 4 years as a despatch rider in London. I had a pretty thorough knowledge of London, and was also pretty good at finding my way around places I didn't know.
Since I got a sat nav, I have completely stopped 'learning' how to get to places, and have lost whatever instinct it was that got me to somewhere I didn't know.
