I saw the video of my spinal surgery
Not the full one, just the bit where they were screwing in the plate that spans three vertebrae (C5/6/7 if anyone's interested). They'd already removed the discs, filled and expanded the intervertebral spaces with lumps of bone they'd taken off my right iliac crest and were getting down to the nitty gritty. I was surprised at how agricultural the whole thing was, just drills, screws chisels and hammers.
It's kinda weird though, watching someone using a drill in a carved-out hole through the front of your own neck.
Vertebrae are smaller than you think.

That's not agricultural.
They would've used tractors, ploughs, combine harvesters and shire horses.

Never seen more than the x-rays of the metal though. That's enough for me.

6 years later they went in from the back..
..due to my mutant healing powers, the bone they fused in didn't stop growing and ended up pressing on my spinal cord so they had to cut the bits out and stop it killing me. The scar on the front of my neck is neat and difficult to find, the one on the back looks like I've been chainsawed and then stapled back together by a blind epileptic.
