This is a question This book changed my life

The Goat writes, "Some books have made a huge impact on my life." It's true. It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.

What books have changed the way you think, the way you live, or just gave you a rollicking good time?

Friendly hint: A bit of background rather than just a bunch of book titles would make your stories more readable

I am very surprised
no-one has mentioned Roald Dahl yet!

Fantastic Mr Fox was my favourite

I loved Roald Dahl
I remember one started with quite a lengthy discussion of staring at the various parts of a candle flame, and then something about someone throwing money out the window. Can't remember any more, though.

Fantastic
This was my absolute favourite book as a small child. I think my parents read it to me so many times I could recite it from memory well before I could read it myself.

Bogis, Bunce and Bean, one short, one fat, one lean....

I'm ashamed of myself for forgetting all about Mr Dahl!
Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were my absolute favourites :) I owe my black sense of humour to his works, and I'm so ashamed I gave all the books away a few years ago - some of them were first editions :(
