This is a question This book changed my life

The Goat writes, "Some books have made a huge impact on my life." It's true. It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.

What books have changed the way you think, the way you live, or just gave you a rollicking good time?

Friendly hint: A bit of background rather than just a bunch of book titles would make your stories more readable

The back of the Frosties box
at breakfast, and the back of the shampoo bottles, as well as various other bathroom products while I'm having a poo. -generally if I'm bored I'll read anything.

Life changing? Nah, but they do taste grr...eat, and leave me wondering what the hell 'sodium lauryl sulphate' is.

There's a spit roast, and then some.

I love it
When they list "aqua" as in ingredient.

I might start selling bottled water with an exciting "Now with Di-Hydrogen Oxide! WOW!" stickers on the labels.

Are you stalking me, Bertieboy?
I had a hankering for Rice Krispies last night. Went and bought some n'all.

@CHCB
Of course, isn't everybody?

@Kaol, be careful, I've heard that Di-Hydrogen Oxide can be lethal if inhaled.

I read anything
When I'm bored, I'll read anything.

I had pretty much memorised the health and safety executive poster in our staff room last summer. Was a very dull read.

Yeah...
I hate that one.
I took the one in my office down, it annoyed me.

Got a gigantic "EXIT" sign that I found in the cupboard there instead.
(, Tue 20 May 2008, 11:31, closed)
I once swapped the entrance and exit signs
at my local Tesco Direct.

It was hilarious watching all of the people getting jammed as the automatic doors only open if you approach from the other side*.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.....
Hi!

I don't know if you really want to know what the above is, but I'll tell you anyway!

It is best known the ingredient in Toothpaste that makes it "froth". Also, it's what makes orange juice taste like shit once you've brushed your teeth, because it actually neutralises the taste buds ability to pick up the sweet flavours, whilst enhancing the ability to pick up bitter flavours.

I only know this because I was reading a really good book, which I will post about myself!!

More on sodium lauryl sulphate
It's the primary foaming agent in pretty much any personal cleaning product - toothpaste, shower gel, bath foam, shampoo etc. It's a longish-chain anionic surfactant which is good at emulsifying oil and water (which is what most surfactants are used for) and thus is efficient at removing grease from skin and hair, and producing lots of foam in the process. It is however causing some concern among safety organisations because it can cause skin irritation.

You'll also see on some bottles a similar product, sodium laureth sulphate, which is a derivative compound, but it less likely to cause irritation to skin.

@K2k6 and Ryushin
Is it really wrong that I've been turned on by both your posts?
(, Tue 20 May 2008, 13:30, closed)
@Sexmonkey
Depends which parts you've been foaming with the SLS.
