I understand why some people like them but I just couldn't imagine curling up in bed with a kindle.

having a kindle doesn't mean you have to throw all your books away.
and it's MUCH comfier for reading in bed.

no it doesn't.
it means i only buy the acutal books i want to look at and covet and read until they're tattered. all the other crap that takes my fancy, i get on my kindle.

There's lots of classics free on the kindle too. You're starting to persuade me it might not be such a terrible idea.

my daughter got a kindle for christmas.
she's just finished little women and is embarking upon pride and prejudice. she still loves 'real' books though, and has followed my example of saving some of her favourites to pass to her own children.
