The translation didn't bother me.The way that noone could open a laptop without its make and screen-size being mentioned did.

Yes.did think the same.
It irritated me in a product placement way but I also remember thinking "what a fantastic way to instantly date your book"
Like watching old films and thinking "half this story wouldn't have happened if they'd just had a mobile phone"
