I lived by that rule
until I read Cloud Atlas. I love it and it won, I'm ashamed to admit, the Richard and Judy award.

Disagree
Of course there are books with awards that are dreadful, but some are are top notch. Wolf Hall and The White Tiger are both Booker winners, both top notch.
