This is a question Books

We love books. Tell us about your favourite books and authors, and why they are so good. And while you're at it - having dined out for years on the time I threw Dan Brown out of a train window - tell us who to avoid.

Tom Sharp.
He got banned from South Africa for 'Riotous Assembly'. Well worth reading just for that.

He's gone downhill though.
The last few I read have been particularly dull. From someone that genuinely made you laugh out loud with the exploding ostrich's and condoms full of scouring powder, The Gropes was utter drivel.

Such a shame.

Yep
Riotous Assembly and Indecent Exposure I read maybe 35 years ago, truly laugh yourself until you gasp for breath stuff.

The Gropes I read a couple of months back, wished I hadn't bothered.

Great shout.
Wilt and the Wilt Alternative had me doubled over with laughter. An amazing author.
