suggest: remove the Delete buttonIf it's a giant cock-up, the poor unfortunate can just Edit their post to "Sorry, this was a giant cock-up". (I should know).
Thread deletion by unfortunate n00bs causes Godzilla-scale flamage every week. Is there ever a time when deleting a comment is a good thing?
