How about a feature similar to the 'popular' button on the image challange, only on QOTWWhen you press it, it arranges the post in order of popularity, rather than time posted.
Saves time trawling through dross before the 'Best Of' page is up, and it would allow you to keep track of how well your answer is doing.

It'd also mean that the posts on the popular page would get a lot more attention (so a lot more votes)rather than the rest of the pages. It'd mean that you'd need to get on the popular page early on in the week otherwise your post wouldn't get seen.
