This is a question Bugs and feature requests

Found a problem on B3ta? Want other features that we don't currently offer? Type your ideas here with your finger-mouths. (We don't promise we'll act on any of it, but we will read it and your words could even prompt us into action.)

I know this is a complete non-starter, but I'm going to suggest it anyway...
I love the way that on the Main board people can add artwork they've produced even if it's not for the current image challenge.

Now...what I'd like - being more of the writing squad rather than photoshopping gang - is a similar board for writing. I know we can stick stuff on qotw but broadly speaking it should be appropriate for the question.

It's no good putting a short story on the /talk board because...well...they're a bunch of mad sharks over there - as well they know it! ;)

I know there is no chance whatsoever of this happening. I know I'm also waffling.

But I've just finished writing a short story and sometimes it's good to be able to try it out on a critical audience before submitting it places. That said, if it's already had a public air many places won't take it....See, I said I was waffling.

Anyway, I'd like a Writing Board.

Yes! Please make this so!
Some of us are far better with words than with graphics- it's still artistic talent, just in a different form. And artistic talent is really what this site is all about, no?

We could have collaborations between writers and artists to make our own graphic novels!

seems like a good idea to me
and i'm /board!

Speaking of artistic talent in a different form
why not have a /music board as well?

If we're going to have collaborations, we can do more than just graphic novels. We can do Flash animations and even our own video-games.

But I like the idea of a /writing board.

Thats a very good idea
and it would stop the winging from certain people who think all the talking is ruining the QOTW board.

I like this idea too!
I often think that I'd like to read more of other people's creative writing/stories/ramblings... Make it so! :)

Also, Chickenlady, I'd like to read your short story, if you decide to open it out to people!

I like this idea
but isn't this what most people use the QOTW suggestions board for?
If somebody posted a story on there I'm sure we'd all go 'oooh!' and 'ahhh!' and give plenty of feedback.

@Bert
Not so much, really. We post stories from our lives- or silly puns- but no real creative writing. And if it's something that's obviously fictitious, or at least highly improbable, there are those who complain about it.

Posting a ten-page story to the QOTW would not go over well.

A separate place where us aspiring authors can post some of our works-in-progress would be altogether different, and would be a very welcome addition.

We would want to have it sorted into categories, though- maybe an erotica section, a sci-fi/fantasy section, a humor section, and so on.

Please, Rob et al, make this happen!

Me too, me too.
I'm currently working up some very short (up to 300 words) pieces for a competition - no, I'm not telling you lot! - but would love you guys to run your collective eyes over them before submitting.

This would be the ideal place!

Click!!

Also - I bet it takes up less space than pictures and stuff.
