Create a /fail leaderboard'I like this' and the 'popular' page made b3ta better. Instead of relying on a select committee of a few mods to pick out the good stuff, suddenly everyone had a vote about what was good.
Let everyone decide what is shit too. Next to 'I like this' create a 'This post fails' link. There could could be a leaderboard per board, or just one huge aggregate of failures for the whole site. It would be interesting to see what ends up on it; a b3ta mood barometer if you will.

I'm not convincedthat encouraging people to post shit would be a good thing.
Because you just know that if there's a leaderboard, people are going to want to be on top of it.
