Caught!
MJPerry asks: Masturbating, stealing, making the cat dance... when did someone catch you doing something you wanted to remain secret?

Actually, shooting is a relatively common way of killing animals not destined for consumption.
Farmers shoot unwanted livestock (like male dairy calves) all the time.
Most of the cows put down during the foot-and-arse outbreak will have been shot, since the equipment for the more conventional stun/cut-throat method is generally only found in slaughterhouses and the whole point of the cull was to keep the infected animals away from the human food chain.
Shooting monkeys seems wrong somehow, although it does seem like a reasonable way of killing them. I bet the person doing it went through a Clint Eastwood or Samuel L Jackson routine first though.
"I double dare you motherfucker, say 'what' again!"

Apparently they do
This was 10 years or so ago, things are slightly less barbaric now.
Plus have you ever tried to catch a monkey?
