What nonsense did you believe in as a kid?
Ever thought that you could get flushed down the loo? That girls wee out their bottoms? Or that bumming means two men rubbing their bums together? Tell us about your childhood misconceptions. Thanks to Joefish for the suggestion.

I believed that whether or not I enjoyed a film as a child
Could be used as a practical benchmark by which to judge later prequels to the film.

That's my favourite,
as I'm happy to view it as a family film, rather than some dead serious space opera.

I disagree
Episodes 4 and 5 were good films, the rest range from questionable to the longest toy adverts ever made.

If they'd ran with the original script for ROTJ it would have been awesome.
Han Solo was supposed to die a meaningless death on Endor, despite just being rescued. Luke then goes to confront his father in a rage, with the audience genuinely concerned that he might turn to the dark side. Meanwhile, Leia commands the mission to destroy the shield generator alone, and in her grief and desperation, with the help of ghost Yoda, draws upon Jedi powers she didn't know she had.
Sod the Ewoks, the problem with ROTJ is that the script was butchered for the sake of a toy franchise. You can still see traces of the originally intended character arcs in the film, but without Solo's death, none of it really makes sense or hits home. The 'Leia is a Jedi' revelation goes nowhere, and we don't for a minute think that Luke might actually butcher his dad and join the Emperor, even to save his friends.

Bumping off Han
and turning Leia into a Sith is a bit dark.
Besides, it needs more CGI Dewbacks.

I think that for a significant part of it
Leia should have been naked.
