so would that apply
to those that died during WW2, for example? You really are an arse you know? Calling everyone in the forces "thick and angry" shows that you really know fuck all about them. A large number of them are extremely clever people and choose a military career for reasons beyond what narrow minded dickheads like you would understand. If you ever climb down out of your ivory tower long enough to talk to them, you might just find they are decent human beings with the same desires and feelings as anybody else. You aren't the model for the "smug git" meme are you, 'cause you sure sound like one.

didn't realise this site
was now being limited to people who have total disrespect for others. I know it isn't because most of the posters on here are decent human beings who don't judge an entire section of the community based on narrow minded perceptions.

do you really need it spelled out
that people serving in the armed forces have had similar reasons for doing so since forever. Don't blame the soldier for carrying out shitty orders. That's what happened during the Vietnam war and Americans are still living with the shame of that.

Yeah. The motivation for fighting fascism was exactly the same as some cosseted 21st century juvenile signing up during a period of extended peace and prosperity to kill brown people over fatuous commercial interests.

The bravest thing for our ladz to do during our current wealth (although the current spend outweighs most possible profits) grab is to disobey orders.
But for someone who writes about their involvement in the weapons industry it is hardly surprising that you would defend your bread and butter so long as you do not actually have to do the fighting.
If fighting is so important, why then have British troops not deployed to more troubled areas?
