This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

American Football
Why for the love of god why ?

Not only is the game what appears to be a overdressed and overcomplicated game of rugby but the game goes on forever ?

Inject some Generic big music personality singing in the game intervals and you have the equivalent of hell in a stadium.

Most american sports baffle me
I find the baseball 'World Series' particularly amusing, given that America is the only country in the world that competes.

If you think that's bad
try Australian Rules Football, it makes absolutely no sense. It seems to be one big fight.

Its the lycra they wear that does my head in
and the arse slapping and whooping... Its probably been said before but American Football just is not - and never will be - cricket.

stupid game
everyone line up -- ball in play for 5 seconds -- everyone stop for 5 minutes -- and repeat.

Now if they cut to the cheerleaders from each team mud-wrestling everytime the ball goes out of play I might be interested...

I quite like the idea of the game
and would love to play it, however it does seem to be very long winded because of all the sponsership etc. It does seem to be a very tacitcal game once you look at it, but yeah, the arse slapping is bordering on the slightly worrying(I'm Bristish btw)

and yet,
as a USer I can still appreciate Rugby. Haven't seen much of it & don't understand much of it but, those are some tough guys out there, slamming into each other wearing little else than leisure clothes.
