This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

Shopping online
Is a much preferred alternative to mixing with the proles in the local Tescos. And don't get me started on Morrisons...

I hear that.
people think we are posh because we shop at Sainsburys

"actually, it's closer, we've worked it out and it's slightly cheaper than Tesco for us. The relative lack of scumbags is a happy bonus"

I used to
shop at Waitrose to avoid the crowds who I liken to wading through shit.

After I moved I started ordering online as there isn't a Waitrose nearby.

After 2 years of this it just recently occured to me that I could in fact buy cheaper groceries online, at Tesco say, AND avoid the crowds. Genius or what?
