My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

"Staff canteen"This name is dreadfully common if you're our simpering Graham Norton-a-gram of a manager.

I've now taken to calling it "The Bistro" to piss him off. Small victories.
