This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

I'd have thought that this one would get some argument
it's not a butty, it's a fucking sandwich.

there are two occasions when it is almost appropriate
chips or bacon

anything else is most definitely a sandwich

Unless you're in Scotland
then it's a piece.

now this is acceptable
because it amuses me

and because I can't imagine that northern wanker Vernon Kay saying it

I thought
a "fucking sandwich" was when you pork your Mrs and your mate bangs it up her wrong 'un. A sideways DP, if you will.

butty/sandwich?
I bought a "bacon butty" from a new Malaysian owned take-away a few weeks ago. He started to dribble HP sauce all over it and I told him no sauce. He says "Oh, you want bacon sandwich?" I said "no, it's called a bacon butty" "No it's not" he told me "bacon sandwich only bacon, bacon butty has HP sauce"
Which fucking retarded English tourist told him that?
