This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

Ah, the Cross Lances.
They have a fine selection of Ska on their juke box and they don't allow karaoke... it is a bastion of decency in an otherwise hideous hole.

EDIT: Now I think about it, I think I was thinking about the Windmill. The Cross Lances is as bad as the rest... I think.

Yeah
I seem to remember it did have a good juke box. Not sure how I know this as I was prob about ten the last time I was in there. Does it still always still smell of gas outside?

Outside
the pub, or just outside in general?

After working here for well over 6 years I think I'm immune to it.

Just outside the pub.
Weird the things you remember when you're young. I also remember a plane came over so low once the house shook.

Planes:
the most common sight in all of Hounslow.

My office shakes frequently from those fuckers.

I think my mum was barred
from the Cross Lances for making an official complaint to the brewery about how racist the landlords were. Nice.
