My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

No! It's allowed with two conditions;
1: That the shirt-shedder is an incredibly sexy builder.
2: That said sexy shirtless builder is working somewhere where I can sit and watch.
