My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

Maybe it's just me.Leaving aside all the bath-barth, dinner-tea malarkey , the one thing guaranteed to make me think "You utter pleb" is an adult swearing at, or in the presence of, their kids.
Although having a garden full of dogshit and rusting Ford parts would probably work just as well.
