My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

YesI agree.
But... I do like my tomato ketchup but only if it's Heinz. I don't ever call it 'Red Sauce' so I might just dodge that bullet
