Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

Rockports
Never saw the appeal of them- they're shit!
I had them suggested as a pair of shoes that'd last a decent length of time (I (gasp!) walk places rather than drive all the time. I'm also not the lightest of people (6ft/1.82m, 100 or so kg) So my shoes wear out quickly.
They lasted a month. ONE MONTH. Fucking expensive shoes, and they lasted a single month.
My £5 pair from Shoe Zone, bought in a soggy-socked moment of desperation, have so far lasted 6 months.
Also, good list.
