My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

EurghI'm divorced now, thank dog, but when I was married I could barely stand a family meal with my then father-in-law ... can't imagine grabbing the turkey baster and ... I can't even finish!
I'd put money on the fact they just stuck the turkey baster and pyrex bowl in the dishwasher too.
