This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

The Woodman, Shirley, Solihull, lunchtime, today
Approx 10 blokes (with rucksacks, and wearing anoraks - its not that fucking cold!) ordering lunch and drinks at the bar. You'd think common sense would prevail and one of them would take the order and get the round of drinks in and order the food, on a tab. But no. They had to be common and order and pay individually. And I had to wait 10 minutes to get served.

Students obviously. They probably wanted to know if they got a discount for using a NUS card. Plaid shirted, tight arsed, woodbine smoking Bastards. I only get an hour to get drunk on a Friday lunchtime.

I live nowhere near you but, having just got home, I feel the need to say:
It is that fucking cold! It's fucking fucking cold! Jesus fucking christ it's cold. Oh, it's so cold. So very, very cold.

Ah, the Woodman
I do live quite near you, and I fondly recall getting hammered in The Woodmans while at 6th Form.

They weren't commoners
If they were, they'd have gone to The Saracen's, to take advantage of the 'two for one offer'. It seems to attract chavs just like a Gregg's attracts fatties.

They've not yet worked out though that all the meals are twice the price of what you'd normally expect to pay for it, making the 'two for one' offer pretty shit.

One at a time
My missus threw a bunch of students out of her pub when they all ordered and paid for food seperately, then moaned when it came out one at a time...
