My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

Apparently "what?" is the preferred term.Surprised me too. I'm putting my faith in Schott for that particular factoid. I seem to recall (though may be mistaken) that "toilet" is preferable over "lavatory"
