My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

CruisingJust as an aside, I used to work at a company that also did cut vinyl vehicle graphics. Some young chav comes in and asks if he can have some stickers cut for his cruising crew. My boss, a middle aged scot, looks askew at him, and then across at me, obviously thinking of the George Michael kind of cruising.
"What?"
"My cruising crew."
"Cruising?"
"Yeah, me and the boys get in our cars and go cruising."
"Cruising?" He is staggered that this young man is so candid, that not only will he talk about his proclivities, but actually wants stickers to advertise them. "Where do you, er, where do you cruise?"
"We meet up in a car park then go from there."
Big pause
"Cruising?"
Someone had to explain. What was funny was that neither had any concept of what the other was driving at.
I may have nearly died from holding the laughter in.
