This is a question Controversial Beliefs

Some mugs still think the MMR injection gives children autism (it doesn't), while others are of the belief that we're ruled by billionaire lizard people. Tell us about views outside the mainstream which people go glassy eyed if you bang on about them (Your grandad's a racist - no need to tell us, thanks)

I received a message from a friend last night that read
You do not know for a fact that the Boston incident was true, false or a complete media set up. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As long as you don't victimise people. I post what I post in order to try and get people to ask questions about things they normally just accept with no real understanding. Call me a conspiracy theorist or whatever. But there are far too many things that go unexplained, which no one pays attention to and you saying stuff like that makes people feel too ashamed or embarrassed to think or question authority.

In the literature, this is know as JAQ-ing off (from Just Asking Questions") and is about a productive as its homophone, but much less fun.

Who are you calling a homophone?

My RE teacher at school said words to the same effect about 9/11 and showed us 9/11 conspiracy videos during lessons. He also believed that the illuminati controlled the economy and the reason for all the inequality in the world is that it is illegal for the rich to give money away to the poor. So yes, he did get us asking questions, but those questions were mostly along the lines of, "Sir, are you just making things up?"
