i had a massive bust up with a mate whos conviction that 'green and the grey' was crass commercialism was at odds with my view of it being a melancholy description of the need to move on and the angst of being left behind.

Indeed - they do command a loyal fanbase.
A couple of years ago they played all of their singles over two nights, back to back. Mrs V only bought us tickets for one of the nights, not realising.
We were probably the only one there going to only the one night.

A mate of mine went to Bradford Uni in the early 90's
