Corporate Idiocy
Comedian Al Murray recounts a run-in with industrial-scale stupidity: "Car insurance company rang, without having sent me a renewal letter, asking for money. Made them answer security questions." In the same vein, tell us your stories about pointless paperwork and corporate quarter-wits

Nottingham has a rather famous history.
Robin Hood has been a legendary figure for centuries, a number of stories that were written in times long past have since been turned into cinematic masterpieces featuring the likes of Kevin Costner, Errol Flynn, the Australian bloke whose name escapes me, an animated fox, various forgettable television actors and Cary Elwes.
For as long as I could remember, the City of Nottingham was represented by the incorporation of Robin Hood into the logo on promotional material, some bright spark decided that they wanted a different approach and they referred the matter to consultants to change the logo as a result.
It makes you wonder what could be more iconic than a centuries old legend with world-wide fame and exposure all over the fucking place.
This is what the Councils consultants came up with: -

£125,000.00.
They're ditching it.

I've always thought it's really good how the city of Nottingham
has carried on this fine tradition of stealing and lawlessness by having one of the highest crime rates in the country. Come to think of it maybe that's why they decided to change the logo.

I believe the current belief is that the accounts relate to a real figure
but the similarity to the real person are inaccurate as the real Robin was believed to be a prize cunt of the highest order.

I'd prefer a talking fox.
We could declare ourselves a seperate state and have not in Nottingham as the official anthem!

To be fair to them...
Robin Hood, while quite the legendary character isn't really an appropriate mascot for the government, since he did after all spend his time stealing from and working against the (misguided, but still in charge) sherif...
Following that, the Sherif of Nottingham would make quite a realistic mascot - "I may be a misguided and money grabbing moron, ut I am in charge, so fuck the lot of you"

That, and Robin Hood's from, and based in Yorkshire. Fuck all to do with Sherwood/Nottinghamshire.
