This is a question Hotel Splendido

Enzyme writes, "what about awful hotels, B&Bs, or friends' houses where you've had no choice but to stay the night?"

What, the place in Oxford that had the mattresses encased in plastic (crinkly noises all night), the place in Blackpool where the night manager would drum to the music on his ipod on the corridor walls as he did his rounds, or the place in Lancaster where the two single beds(!) collapsed through metal fatigue?

Add your crappy hotel experiences to our list.

Worried...
Damn it, of all the QOTW's, this had to be the one to appear just after I've booked a week in a reasonably priced hotel in Prague.

On the plus side, I'm now fully prepared for the worst, I'll be packing disinfectant, my own sheets and towels, a full kit of antibiotics, a padlock and some kind of firearm.

Thanks for turning me into a paranoid young man b3ta, thanks a fucking lot!

Same situation.
Me & the missus are off to Spain for a week on Sunday morning. Hopefully the hotel won't be too bad.

Well...
Let's hope you've not "pulled an Enzyme" and booked yourselves into a 2-Star brothel...

um
which hotel? i've stayed in most hostels and affordable hotels in prague - just avoid the 'junior hotel', and you should be fine...

It's
the dubiously titled "Hotel Crystal Palace"...
The other half booked it, and assures me it's fine, but we'll see, I guess!
I think this QOTW has just fired up my survival instincts!

dont worry about it... I stayed in loads of cheap places. Usually you get a better nights sleep in the cheaper places.

The way i see it, why pay £100's for a few nights when all you do in the hotel is sleep.

If you have a good time the most time youll spend in the hotel is a few hoursa day MAX... is it worth forking out £90 a night...no.
