Completely agree
Although Asian cinema in general is brilliant. The Koreans spin a nice line in creepy cinema too with films such as R-Point and A Tale of Two Sisters.
The Japanese take the proverbial biscotti though with some of their weird shit like Tetsuo Bodyhammer!?! I remember watching that a few years back with a friend of mine; his girlfriend walked into the room mid-way through, studied the TV screen for a few moments, turned to look at us and then walked out shaking her head.
