Doom 3
Love it or hate it - it was a bloody scary in places. Mainly because it's so dark. When I get to a level where I can see more than a thin sliver of torchlight it's a relief. First 'spare underpants time' bit must be when a door opens and that thing leaps at you, and an off-key shrill "wheuuuuuuup" noise emits through the speakers.

And whatever you do, when you are in the changing rooms; don't look in the mirror....

Yes, yes I have, and I agree, Ravenholm is scarier - but Doom 3 still has its moments

The mumbling Marines could be scary at 3am during an all night game.
Left me creeped out more than once.

Silent Hill series & Resident evil series for me
Played doom but can't think of anything that gives you the willies like these two games, when playing on your own of course..... Hello Kitty Island Adventure, is also terrifying.
