Working at the hospital
One night, a man passed away in a room at the end of the hall. We did the usual wash up and toe tags and left him for the night morgue. After he was taken away, the call light kept coming on. We would go down, turn it off, look around: no one there. It was completely creeping us out, so after the umpteenth time, Jaye stomped down to rip it out of the wall and silence the alarm.

About 5am, it went on again and we drew straws to go down and check it out. The nurse who went down said it had been plugged back in. We had been all together all night, so by mutual unspoken consensus, we ignored it.

I used to work as an electrician in a hospital
The creepiest time was when I had to work the night shift to keep on top of the electrical saftey tests of the call buttons, wandering around in the dark so as not to wake anyone up. We were only allowed to test the beds which were unoccupied or (and this is the creepy bit) those with stiffs all bagged up and ready to go off to the morge.

I had to press the call button and then pop off to the wiring cab to see if it had registered on the meggar. The nurses were told to ignore them as there was a test that night and I never saw them. But one night there was this stiff in one room and the call button wasn't working.

I couldn't find anything wrong with the wiring, I kept trying again and again, Returning back from the wiring closet the third time the call button was ripped out of the wall and thrown across the corridor. I nearly shat myself as I had to lean over the stiff to plug it back in.

The next night the room was empty and the call button worked first time - creepy.

Unplugged call buttons tend to go off, constantly.
Almost certainly dodgy electrics.
