Alan GarnerEspecially Weirdstone & Owl Service. I remember a teeth-itching, claustrophobia-inducing cave-crawling sequence, and lying in bed, looking for scary patterns in my 70s curtains.

Also Katzilla & the Resident Evil post remind me - Vampire Bloodlines - particularly the abandoned hospital & asylum/mansion sections. The soundtrack as much as anything...
