This is a question Customers from Hell

The customer is always right. And yet, as 'listentomyopinion' writes, this is utter bollocks.

Tell us of the customers who were wrong, wrong, wrong but you still had to smile at (if only to take their money.)

guy in a restaurant.
I was eating at a local (very cheap) Singaporean restaurant, when a customer went off at the waiter/owner in front of all the patrons, saying the food wasn't authentic.

The flaw in his argument, from my perspective, was that the owner was an authentic Singaporean-type person, from Asia. Which the customer wasn't.

So if the food wasn't authentic, presumably that was due to the tastes of the customers, rather than the owner being somehow unaware of what food was like where he was from.

Also it was really cheap, and vegan, and local. And just, aren't you embarrassed? Did he not care what anyone thought, or in his mind was everyone cheering him on / admiring his knowledge?

But on the other hand, the customer said 'I've been to Singapore', so I guess he must have been right. Jesus Christ.

Restraunts
For some reason seem to bring out the worst in people. I think that the actual novelty of having someone wait on them makes them think that they are somehow then entitled to act like a prick. God knows why

i've only ever complained 3 times about food in restaurants/cafes
1.) ordered pizza, which was frozen solid in the middle. very politely told the waitress, who apologised profusely. got another pizza and the whole meal was free.
2.) new chinese restaurant. the food was cold, very salty and a noodle cut my gum. the staff suddenly lost the ability to speak english. i walked out and refused to pay.
3.) cafe. ordered sausage, egg and chips. was given sausage, egg, chips and beans. i HATE beans. despite the fact that i, my friend and another 2 members of staff said i hadn't asked for beans, the till gorgon insisted i had. why would i ask for something i hate? eventually lost my rag and told her to replace my meal or wear it. she replaced it. the woman who replaced* her a week later was much nicer.

*she'd done this to 4 other customers THAT DAY.
