This is a question Customers from Hell

The customer is always right. And yet, as 'listentomyopinion' writes, this is utter bollocks.

Tell us of the customers who were wrong, wrong, wrong but you still had to smile at (if only to take their money.)

Elfinpunk's story below has reminded me
of all the clueless idiots who used to walk into the coffee bar where I worked, gaze around at the bags and bags and bags of coffee beans we sold, then turn to me and ask in thin, doubtful voices. . .

'Do you sell coffee beans?'

No. We do not. Try the shoe shop down the block.

To be fair...
I've asked in a shop like that if I can have a bag of those beans "up there" and been told "sorry, they're decoration only".

I knew it!
So that's why I keep getting all these fools coming into my bloody shoe shop.

*shakes fist*

@tuqueboy & 5150
My apologies! I only wish I could have laughed at the clueless ones who deserved it but alas, I can be a gentle person and so only helped them. Okay, mostly helped them.

Hey, 5150 -- those shoes there, the ones with the price tag and the huge 'SALE' sign over them -- are they for sale?

@JohabMorelli
These were on shelves complete with price tags, though we did have people try to buy our displays. We'd always have to gently explain that no, those were pretend coffee beans and madam/sir might prefer the real ones.

Those ones?
No, display only. Sorry.

Try the coffee shop down the road.
